TOP TEN Best NFL Players -- Honorable Mentions: Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, and Terrell Owens- Hard to select one and not the others, all are great players, but all also have questions Owens and Moss have character issues, Moss takes plays off, Owens will drop the easy passes, and Harrison tends to find the sideline instead of taking a hit.

Early Retirement for Ricky Williams -- Miami Dolphins fans were none too pleased when they learned of Ricky Williams' stunning decision to retire from the NFL at the ripe young age of 27. They certainly cannot be blamed for their disapproval. After all, the team's offensive scheme revolved around Williams' ability to carry the ball as much or more than any other running back in the league, and to run it well, thus keeping defensive pressure off of their quarterback.

What is fantasy football and how do you play? -- Fantasy football is growing more and more popular by the second. It seems like everywhere you look you see another ad for a fantasy football related product or service and everyone is talking about this great game.

Greatness Falls at the Hands of a True Legend -- It's implausible to imagine the player who broke the most coveted record in football being remembered as the guy that couldn't win the big game. Peyton Manning bears that ugly scar.

Have Sporting Celebrations Gone Too Far? -- It's the middle of the second quarter, inside the opposing team's 20 yard line. Aaron Brooks throws a strike to Joe Horn for his second touchdown of the game. But instead of giving the ball to the ref and running back to the sideline, Joe runs over to the goal post, lifts up the pad and pulls out a cell phone! Horn dials his home phone number and calls his son. That call may have been the most expensive call of Horn's life.

Quarterback Controversy in DC? -- It is obvious who ought to take the first snap for the Washington Redskins next fall. The answer is so clear, anybody that thinks otherwise needs to have their brain examined. Maybe new head coach Joe Gibbs should order Patrick Ramsey get a CAT scan before mini-camp takes place.

End the Madness: Down with the BCS --  Lets' face it: the BCS is a piece of garbage. It encourages unsportsmanlike behavior - and there really seems to be too much of that these days - by forcing teams to run up scores to maintain high poll positions.

In Defense of Maurice Clarett --  Maurice Clarett has been the victim of circumstances all too familiar to top college athletes. Upon entering Ohio State, he was treated like a golden boy - given cars, money, and all the "help" a young student could ever ask for, including easy classes and tutors who did much of his work for him.

Lessons From the Life and Death of Reggie White --  Former NFL great and Packer/Eagle/Panther Reggie White died Sunday morning, December 26th, at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville, North Carolina. The likely cause of his death was sleep apnea-related respiratory failure. He was a young man at the age of 43. He is survived by a wife, son, and daughter.
